Maximizing Your TRICARE Supplement Benefits Before the New Year

Written by GEA USA | Dec 4, 2025 2:30:00 PM

As 2026 approaches, it’s a great time to review your TRICARE Supplement Insurance Plan through GEA and make sure you’re getting the most out of your benefits.

What the TRICARE Supplement Covers

Even with TRICARE, out-of-pocket costs like copayments, deductibles, and excess charges can add up. The GEA TRICARE Supplement helps cover:

  • TRICARE cost-shares, copays, and excess charges after meeting the deductible (Individual $250 / Family $500).
  • Medical services including doctor visits, hospital stays, outpatient procedures, and pharmacy.
  • Civilian provider costs and protection against catastrophic medical expenses.

The plan is available for military retirees, reservists, and their families already enrolled in TRICARE, with premiums based on age. Not all services are covered — only those TRICARE approves.

How to Maximize Your Benefits in December

  1. Review Appointments: Schedule checkups, elective procedures, or specialist visits before year-end.
  2. Check Prescriptions: Medications like insulin, cholesterol drugs, or GLP‑1 therapies (e.g., Ozempic) may be reimbursable.
  3. Submit Claims: Send in any outstanding TRICARE EOBs to get reimbursed for copays or cost-shares.
  4. Plan Ahead: Estimate your 2026 medical needs to strategically use your TRICARE + Supplement coverage.

By reviewing your plan and using your benefits now, you can reduce out-of-pocket costs, maximize reimbursements, and start the new year confident that your healthcare coverage is working for you.
