GEA recognizes and shares the privacy concerns of visitors to our website. What personal information does GEA collect about me?

Visitors to GEA's website browse the site anonymously. Visitors are not required to provide any personal information to GEA in order to access our website.

GEA requests personal information about you and others in your household to underwrite the risk and provide an accurate insurance rate quote for GEA insurance carriers. When you request rates or other information, GEA always asks for your name and e-mail address. GEA asks for additional information if you decide to purchase a policy, including credit card number, address, social security number, telephone number, dependent names, health information, physician names and addresses, and beneficiary, if necessary. Social Security information is optional in some states.

Some of this information is obtained from you, and confirmed or supplemented through information obtained from various consumer reporting agencies, which provide health information, claim reports and credit reports. Upon request, GEA will provide the source of these consumer reports and their customer service phone numbers for verification and correction of your information.

Depending upon your state of residence, the information requested could include examples such as:

  • Zipcode
  • Employment duration
  • Date of birth
  • Health conditions
  • Gender
  • Prior insurance carrier
  • Marital status
  • Claims history
  • Credit report information

It is not our practice to request personal information in connection with your insurance transaction solely for marketing purposes. However, non-identifying information, and information collected when you participate in contests and surveys, may be used for marketing purposes.

Security - Is the Information Collected Secure?

GEA uses a secure server and security protocol to safeguard the information you provide during the purchase and payment processes.

GEA uses the information to underwrite risks and generate accurate rates, provide a faster customer experience and to improve our website. If you purchase coverage with GEA, we use the information to activate and service your policy.
